Topsy and Tim are always finding fun adventures in the real world, and this story is reassuring for young children having first experiences of their own.

In Topsy and Tim At the Farm, the children meet all kinds of interesting animals. They help collect eggs from the chickens, and find some little ducklings learning how to swim. They are a little bit frightened when they get chased by some large geese, but Farmer Stewart soon finds them a nice job to do, helping to feed a calf.

'My four year old really enjoyed this book - I was slightly surprised as I thought the content and format would be a bit young for her but I think as she is taking her first steps in reading she appreciated the simplicity of it. She was absolutely fascinated by the wonderful picture of the cows being milked and that lead to a very interesting conversation over storytime this evening. My two year old enjoyed this book too and was rather taken with the geese. All in all I think that the book was quite a success for us and I was quite pleased to rediscover characters from my childhood!'
