'A great book to introduce young children to the French language. The simple story is nicely illustrated and the book also includes a list of useful phrases related to shopping, the numbers 1 to 20, and a song based on the story. All of these are also featured on the cd, which is nice and clear and easy to listen to. The 6 tracks allow you to either listen to the content of the book in French with an English translation line by line, or just in French with a pause after each sentence to give you the opportunity to repeat the phrase. My six year old enjoyed it and asked if there were any other books about Max et Mathilde, always a good sign.'
